How a round works
Name your stake
In a Showdown, pick the outlaw (Greenhorn, Deputy or Sheriff), your seat as X or O, and how much of your purse rides on the match.
Place your mark
Tap a tile, or hold and drag to aim before you let go. Plank X's and lasso O's take turns on the wooden board.
Collect
Win and the stake pays out by the paytable for your seat and outlaw; a draw pays some of it back. Duels and online games are played for the sheriff's star alone.

- Outlaw AI at three levels, from Greenhorn to Sheriff

Full rules and detail6 steps
A ground-up rebuild of tic-tac-toe as a Wild West showdown, made in Unity 6 with every 3D model generated in Blender. The board is weathered planks inside a roped corral, with saguaros swaying, tumbleweeds rolling past and mesas on a sunset horizon. X is a nailed plank cross and O is a coiled lasso. In a Showdown you stake part of a demo purse against the outlaw AI on the Classic 3×3 board: choose the Greenhorn, the Deputy or the Sheriff, who searches every line and never blinks, and sit as X or O. The match is played on the game provider, which runs the outlaw, decides the result and settles the stake from a paytable for each seat and level; quitting a Showdown forfeits it. Saloon Duels pass one device between two players in three modes: Classic; Tumbleweed, where your oldest mark blows away once you have three on the board; and the Big Ranch, a 5×5 board that needs four in a row, with best-of-3 or best-of-5 series, an optional quick-draw turn timer, hints and undo. The Online Posse meets in the game provider's rooms: open a private room, share its four-character code, and the match starts as soon as your opponent joins, with 30 seconds a move, played for fun rather than stakes.
How to play
- Choose SHOWDOWN to stake against the outlaw AI, SALOON DUEL for two players on one device, or ONLINE POSSE to play someone online.
- In a Showdown, pick the outlaw's skill, your seat (X opens) and your stake. Your purse is shown on the setup screen and in the match.
- Tap a tile to place your mark, or hold and drag to aim first. Turn on tap-twice-to-place in Settings if you would rather confirm each move.
- Get three in a row across, down or diagonally (four on the Big Ranch) to win the round. Fill the board with no line and it is a draw.
- In a Saloon Duel, pick Classic, Tumbleweed (your oldest mark vanishes once you have three, and it flickers the turn before) or the 5×5 Big Ranch, and set a series, a quick-draw timer, hints and undo.
- Online, open a room and send its four-character code to a friend, or type in theirs. The match starts when both of you are seated, each move has 30 seconds, and New room sets up the next one.
